IDC believes that the current PC industry still faces many challenges, including the consumer market update cycle, enterprises reduce procurement budgets, education spending in many markets has not yet rebounded, so it is estimated that shipments in 2023 will be 252 million units, down 13.7% year-on-year.

Jitesh Ubrani, research manager for Mobile and consumer device trackers at IDC, said:

The PC field is still under a lot of pressure caused by the economic retrograde, and consumer demand is showing a "lukewarm" state.

In addition, due to the challenge of smartphones, game consoles, tablets and other devices, the PC industry is expected to experience the largest decline ever in 2023.

Ryan Reith, group vice president of worldwide Mobile and consumer device Trackers at IDC, said:

The popularity of generative AI and other technologies has become another important factor in promoting the development of the PC industry, and in the foreseeable future, commercial PCS may usher in a new round of outbreaks.

Microsoft will stop the Win10 system in 2025, both from a corporate and personal point of view, is expected to further promote the development of the PC industry. It's clear that Apple sees an opportunity to continue to grow in the business sector, and we'll be watching Apple closely in the future.
